Lose My Head

[This is a song about zombies.]

Everyone I know can be a monster,
just give in once and you'll be just like them.
The sickness can tear you to pieces,
It's easy to resist, but hard to win

My best friend is dead to me,
It almost led to tragedy,
'cause I amost let him kill me too

But I won't lose my head, I won't lose my head
Things aren't ok, but I won't end up dead
If I can't trust myself, then I'll trust You instead
And I'll swallow my pride
before the whole world tries to eat me alive

Through my mistakes I discover
If nothing else, healing comes with time
Some days are harder than others
At times it's just a fight to stay alive

Every day I lose a friend
I'm starting to get scared again,
'cause my biggest fear is ending up alone

But I won't lose my head, I won't lose my head
Things aren't ok, but I won't end up dead
I can't trust myself, so I'll trust You instead,
And I'll swallow my pride
before the whole world tries to eat me alive.

I have decided that I need to read more. I enjoy reading occaisionally, but I'm not really one of those individuals that have an innate passion for reading (A couple of my friends in Tahlequah come to mind). But I know it is a habit that I need to make time for. In a recent conversation on the subject, my friend Jason Fullerton said,

"Reading is fundamental."

Inspiring, right? Therefore, in an attempt to better myself, I set a goal for myself for the semester. I am going to read at least 7 books this semester. I know this really isn't an impressive goal, but it will at least motivate me to do something I halfway intended to do.

[These are the books I'm starting out with. The bottom one is actually three, and I won't count the top one since it is so short.]

I've also been staying consistent with my Bible-reading plan, which is something I have struggled with in the past (mainly because I didn't have a plan, I suppose). The iPod Bible app is incredibly handy. So between these two things and reading for school (wonderful things like finance and statistics), I should be getting somewhere.

That's all I've got for today.
